70 classmates became members of the Alumni Emeritus Society of Florida State University.
For most it was a life changing experience: A reliving of
the years of our youth, our loves, our hopes, woes, our heritage, our
friendships! Our total was near 100 wonderful souls.

CABOT LODGE

Cabot Lodge-North
Monroe is our hotel headquarters. Tommy Waits has arranged special accommodations. The
room rate is $56 per night.....(plus $9 conference fee plus taxes.)
Rate includes breakfast from 7:00 to 9:00am and afternoon "Personality Adjustment"
cocktail Time 5:30-7:30pm. Our host is John Taylor. For

anniversary reunion for FSU class of 1956.
Our Program
Our program began with registration on Thursday
afternoon, and friendship renewal in the spacious Cabot Hotel lobby.
Friday was a tour of the Magnetic Lab facility in the
morning, Bar B Q lunch compliments of Westcott Lakes,
and an afternoon tour of the State-of-the-art new Med
School building.
We will have
buses to move the entire class in order to eliminate campus
parking challenges. Local classmates are urged to park
at the hotel headquarters and ride the bus with
classmates. Thursday night there will be small group get-to-gathers...band,
frats & sororities, circus, clubs like Tarpon, F Club,
and the sports minded, singles, the chemistry club [wow].
Friday morning special campus tours are scheduled, to possibly include the Mag Lab,
Med School and new athletic center Hall of Fame.
Noon time will be at the new Westcott Lakes and followed by more sightseeing.
Friday night will be a 50's radio show and food galore,
DJ with interviews of everyone, and it will be where we all spent so much of our fun time...
The Westcott library viz-a-viz Dodd Hall.
You will not believe the restoration ... Magnificent.
Saturday, The Athletic Department and Bobby Bowden graciously picked our weekend for the "Spring Game".
We will tour the new athletic center at 10:00 am then hold our class meeting in the Stadium's Presidents Box
followed by lunch in there. The Garnet and
Gold game or the 2:00 pm Worlds greatest College Circus with special
seating for us, will round out the day. Saturday night
after the Cabot's "Personality Adjustment Time", we will bus to the fabulous new Alumni Center, formerly the
President's home, and enjoy our formal Emeritus Banquet.
The official reunion ends Sunday, however many have expressed the desire
to stay on one or two days longer. I, for one, intend to be available to
enjoy an extra day with classmates. Sunday would be, to my thinking, a
great relaxed day to just roam the older areas of the campus, fraternity
and sorority areas ......... and just remember when!
These are just highlights to whet your appetite. Formal mailings will be out shortly.
Be sure to let us have your E-Mail address as that is the fastest and surest way for us to communicate
with you on specifics. If you do not do E-Mail, give us a friend or relative who will agree to keep you
abreast of our notices. We will have scheduled buses, for moving around.
If you would prefer not to rent a car, let us know your fly in schedule so we can try to help.
We all have lost track of most of our classmates. That seems to be a given. But each of us knows one or more
well enough to call and just make sure they know of our plans and will join in with the
Still Better Than Ever ... Florida State University Class of 1956 Fifty Year Reunion Extravaganza!!!
